Abstract
Recent achivement of Digital Archives allows us virtual preservation of shapes and views of cultural/historical properties.Development of 3-D scanning system including rangefinders and laser radars has made highly accurate 3-D model of real objects possible. However, modeling of optical properties of outdoor objectshas been less considered than the geomotrical properties so far due to its difficulty in controlling light conditions. In this paper we propose a novel method of modelingoptical properties of outdoor objects under the sky.we obtain images of both target object and the sky over the target object over and over, and estimate optical propertyof target object using signal-processing framework. we apply spherical harmonic analysis between the images of target object and the corresponding images of the sky.Experimantal results of our proposal are also shown in this report.
