The research center of HBS was recently subjected to an innovative renewal to fit it more property to the IT business of the future. The renewal plan was intended to be consistent with energy-savings and environmental improvement. Energy saving through the year would amount to 16%, and the peak demand for electricity would be reduced by the use of ice storage type air conditioners. Japan's winter climate is very dry, yet the average humidity of the building would satisfy the requirements of employees. These results were visualized, and the improvement in operational control achieved by use of the BEMS system.
