The present paper proposes the optimized operational method of a HVAC system with an underground thermal storage system to minimize the energy consumption of the system using simulation. The simulation model consists of two modules: soil and pile module and HVAC system module that consists of models of HVAC components. The optimal operational method proposed based on the results of the case studies can decrease energy consumption of the whole system about 43% compared with the present operational method, and can improve system COP of the ground thermal storage system from 3.26 to 5.04.
