It is important to maintain indoor air and sanitary environments in welfare facilities for aged. But Japan has no environmental and hygiene law for welfare facilities. In this study, the way of the maintenance of sanitary environments in welfare facilities for aged was examined. This study reports the measurements of temperature, humidity, airflow rate, CO, CO_2, PM, formaldehyde and airborne microorganism concentrations in daycare rooms, office rooms and bed rooms for 4 welfare facilities in summer and winter. As a result, the CO_2 concentrations in the daycare and office rooms that had a lot of people were pretty high, therefore the capacity of the ventilating facilities might be shortage.
