We evaluated the energy-saving performance of a ground source heat pump (GSHP) in small office building model in Bangkok, Thailand. To cope with a thermal buildup in shallow subsurface by a long-term operation, operating condition was derived from a predicted temperature rise over 50-year operation in its heat sink. Our findings confirm that the GSHP outperforms an air source heat pump in energy saving under a proper management in heat dissipation to subsurface.
