This paper gives an outline about the effective approach for the standard development in the industrial digital communication. The paper mainly focuses on the differences between MAP and PROFIBUS, but the author does not want to describe the detailed technical specifications on the both buses. The reader will understand how PROFIBUS has approached the market after reviewing the MAP trial.
