The distribution of two varunid crabs of the genus Ptychognathus, P. ishii and p. capillidigitatus, was studied based on specimens collected from tidal zones on southern coast of Ehime Prefecture, southern Japan. Specimens of P. ishii collected were 83 from nine localities. These were 24 and two for P. capillidigitatus, respectively. Apparently P. ishii had a wider range than that of P. capillidigitatus, though the sympatric occurrence was rarely found. This tendency was similar to other areas on southern Shikoku Island.
