Randomly packed beds of spheres with Rosin-Rammler size distribution are generated by computer simulation under the condition that the clearance between particle surfaces is larger than 0.4nm. The void fraction, coordination number and adhesion strength of the packed bed are calculated from the simulation results and the correlations among these properties are studied. As a result, it is found that the distribution constant significantly influences the coordination number as well as the void fraction. The coordination number increases slightly as the distribution constant decreases down to about 5, whereas it decreases abruptly with the distribution constant decreasing from 5. In addition, the adhesion strength of the packed bed increases with decreasing the distribution constant.
