In RC rigid-frame viaducts of railroad structures, lateral confining reinforcement bars in the shape of semi-circular hook anchorage are used as standard for beam members. To improve workability at construction sites, it is very effective to replace these bars with mechanical anchorage bars. Therefore, cyclic loading tests were conducted to verify the structural performance when the mechanical anchorage bars are applied. As a result, it was found that the deformation capacity was equivalent to a case with standard reinforcement bars.
