Myoglobins (Mb's) of the bluefin tuna and skipjack, the N-termini of which are acetylblocked as previously reported, were analyzed for N-terminal amino acid sequence and C-terminus. The purified Mb specimen of each species was digested with “Pronase P” and from the digest 3 acetylpeptides were separated by paper chromatography. Their amino acid compositions were assayed by the usual method and their sequences by the carboxypeptidase and other methods. It was concluded from the data obtained that the N-terminal sequence for both Mb's is acetyl-Ala-Asp-Phe-Ser-Glu-Gly. The C-terminal amino acid of both Mb's was identified as Gly by the hydrazinolysis method.
