The algae in question grow more densely in deeper water than in shallower one. The viscosity of the material as studied by the previously reported method was found to be smaller in more deeply and densely growing ones than in more shallowly and sparsely living ones (Table 1). The viscosity in question does not differ according to the grades of the commercial preparations.
