The ravine bottom of the Iwana Channel, Narugo region, is thinly covered by alluvium. In this area, the writer discovered two examples of failures which may explain this deposit. In a case, an old failure deposit was pushed by a new larger failure deposit (Fig. 1). In another case, a new smaller failure occurred on an older failure deposit (Fig. 2).
