The purpose of this study is to consider the regional characteristics of new and old central urban districts in Yangsan City in terms of land use composition and its temporal change. For this purpose, area composition ratio and average area by land use category were analyzed quantitatively. Then, the area and spatial distribution of the lots that land use has changed were clarified. The result of this study is summarized as follows. Buildings in the new central urban district are much larger than those in the old central urban district, but average area of land use lots in the new central urban district are smaller than the old central urban district. While the spatial distribution of the land use change has no clear regional trend, land use change in the old central urban district has occurred twice as large area as the new central urban district.
