The methodology for deriving microscopic stress-strain curves through stress evaluation using HR-EBSD technique and strain evaluation by SEM-DIC method during in situ tensile tests is outlined. A georeferencing operation was used to assign crystallographic and stress information measured by (HR-)EBSD to the corresponding DIC subsets. Based on georeferenced strain and crystallographic information, it is shown that strain evolution trends can be distinguished depending on the phases, the magnitude of the Schmid factor, and the distance from the grain boundary. The microscopic and local stress-strain behavior observed in the Ti-6Al-4V alloy showed considerable variation depending on the location within the microstructure. The local work-hardening rate was calculated from the stress-strain information of each subset and presented as a work-hardening rate map.
