Abstract
1. Yakriton, the detoxicating hormone of the liver, seems to endeavor to keep the blood calcium in the physiological range.
2. Yakriton itself will not cause the blood calcium level to change at least to any remarkable degree.
3. If 8.5% calcium gluconate is subcutaneously injected in the amount of 2.5 c. c. per kilo into b-classed rabbits, the blood calcium content will rise rapidly, reaching the maximum in one or one and a half hours and come down rapidly again. If yakriton is subcutaneously used in the amount of 2 R. A. U. per kilo of body weight, 45 minutes prior to the calcium injection, the blood calcium will rise more gradually and come down gradually again, making the curve of blood calcium less steep and making the summit less high.
4. In this action the effect of yakriton to keep the blood ingredients constant will be seen.
