Abstract
All the experiments have been performed upon decerebrate cats, after all the ether-had been taken off. 10 c.c. of chloralose solution saturated at 40°C. was intravenously injected, and thereafter the left splanclmic nerve was stimulated electrically. The elevation of the blood pressure caused by the stimulation was not exaggerated by the chloralose injection at all.
The blood pressure tracings obtained after adrenaline alone or a mixture of the same dose of adrenaline and 10 c. c. of chloralose solution saturated at 40°C. were compared, and we could not find any large and long-sustained rise, such as described by Vincent and Thompson, after the injection of the mixture.
