Abstract
1. Basophilia was seen in 127 cases (14.9%) out of all the 855 cases examined.
2. The percentage of eosinophilia accompanied by basophilia to the cases of eosinophilia has an inclination to increase as the eosino- phile count becomes larger.
3. But strong basophilia (over 200) does not always go parallel to the intensity of eosinophilia.
4. There are cases in which basophiles are not seen in spite of a strong eosinophilia.
5. In our cases, eosinophilia preceded basophilia in 4 cases out of the 5 cases of acute infections diseases.
