An increase of automobiles in Japan slowed down year by year recently. The increasing rate of last year (2006) was only 0.2%. Demands for new automobiles of the first half of this fiscal year (from March to September of 2007) decreased down about 91% compared with the same term of last year. This report reviews the process of Japan’s motorization and saturated status of Metropolitan Area such as Tokyo Metropolitan Area, Osaka Metropolitan Area, etc and tries the future prospect of automobile in Japan.
