The new housing program leases private rental housing units for those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in Sendai and Tagajyo Cities. By analyzing this new program, I will discuss the following policy agenda for rental assistance programs : (l)the effect on the market; (2) administrative costs; (3) administration authorities; (4)problems with discrimination in the market; (5)housing security and public finance; (6) housing and residential choices; (7)assistance for
dispersed
residents; and (8)program evaluation.
