Vitamin B_<12> concentration in whole blood of healthy adults and patients with anemia was determined by the Euglena method devised by the author. The mean value of 30 healthy subjects was 0.38±0.03mμg/ml (0.08-1.87). The mean of eleven cases with aplastic anemia was 0.99±0.17mμg/ml (0.47-1.26) being higher than normal. Five cases with leucemia showed 1.18±0.76mμg/ml (0.35-2.00), being thrice higher than normal. Six cases with other anemia including iron deficiency anemia and lead poisonig showed the mean value of 0.58±0.15mμg/ml (0.45-0.80), being approximately equal to normal. Fresh human tissues and organs obtained in the surgical operations were assayed. Normal liver contained 60.5μg, N. phrenicus and lmyphatic gland with metastasis of cancer showed about 4μg, muscles and stomach wall being approximately 2μg per 100g of fresh sample.
