Thiamine-degrading bacteria have been isolated from rat feces in Toyonaka City. Three strains of bacillus thiaminolyticus Matsukawa et Misawa and five strains of Clostridium thiaminolyticum Kimura et Liao were identified in 53 rat feces specimens.
