Ion exchange resin column chromatography with Dowex 50×4 was adopted to the separation of thiamine and its derivatives. Citrate buffer (pH 3.4 and 6.5) and phosphate buffer (pH 6.8) were used as the eluate. By this method they could clearly be differentiated from each other on the chromatogram.
