In rats fed with a riboflavin-deficient diet containing soybean oil, fatty acid content in serum with 4 double bonds was lower, whereas that with 2 double bonds was higher than that of control animals. The low percentage of fatty acid with 4 double bonds in serum of deficient animals showed perhaps the failure of synthesis of arachidonic acid from linoleic acid in these animals.
