Abstract
Experiments on the decomposition of riboflavin glucosyl compounds were carried out with dialyzed bran culture extracts of Aspergillus awamori, A. niger and Mucor javanicus. In A. awamori and A. niger, riboflavin-α-glucoside (B_2-gl), riboflavin isomaltoside (B_2-gl-gl) and higher members of riboflavin oligoglucosyl compound (B_2-(gl)_n) were mainly decomposed through the following route : B_2-(gl)_n→B_2-(gl)_<n-1>→………B_2-gl-gl→B_2-gl→B_2. In M. javanicus, both culture extract and its partially purified enzyme preparation attacked more powerfully the B_2(5'-1) glucose bond of riboflavin compound molecule than its glucose (6-1) glucose bond ; i.e. B_2-gl-gl→B_2+gl-gl.
