Investigations on the vitamin B_<12> content of some species of fishes and weeds in Lake Biwa conducted in order to examine their nutritional and feed supplement values showed that 1-2μg% of the vitamin was contained in flesh and 10-47μg% in internal organs of the fishes tested, and 5-20μg% of the vitamin was found in the several kinds of shell fishes examined, while some of the fresh-water weeds contained as much vitamin B_<12> as 16μg% for dry basis.
