Synthesis of Ferrous [⁵⁹Fe] D-Glucuronate

Abstract

Ferrous [⁵⁹Fe] D-glucuronate was prepared from glucuronic acid and ferrous [⁵⁹Fe] carbonate which was obtained from ⁵⁹FeCl₃. In this reaction almost the whole process was carried out automatically in nitrogen atmosphere. Determination of glucuronic acid in ferrous glucuronate by naphthoresorcinol picrate was not disturbed by the presence of radioactive ferrous ion.
