It was reported by T. H. Yang that liriodenine (VI) was obtained by the oxidation of ushinsunine (I) and roemerine (II), aporphine type alkaloid with CrO3-pyridine complex.
A similar oxidation was carried out with nucif erine (III), glaucine (IV) and O, O-dimethylcorytuberine (V.) of the aporphine type alkaloid and the oxidized products (VII), (VIII) and (IX) possessing 7H-dibenzo[de, g]quinolin-7-one skeleton were obtained.
