Oligosaccharide was converted to sulfate with phenylsulfuryl chloride (PSC) and its products were seperated through the column of Dowex-1 of the salicylic acid type. The binding site of sulfate radical of the sulfate ester seperated was presumed to be sulfated selectively at the primary hydroxyl group of oligosaccharide, similarly to mono-saccharide.
