Recently, it is spread a service through an open network, such as non-face-to face trading. It is constructed a PKI (Public Key infrastructure) for these service. An authentication using PKI based on an own of private key. Therefore the PKI authentication has a threat of improper use. And it has a problem of Cost of verification of CRL for a great many users, such as a government service. This paper presents a biometrics-based personal authentication system in which a smart card, a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) such as an X.509 certificate, and biometric verification technologies are combined. So it is able to keep an operation security without the CRL verification. We have developed a prototype system in which the system is applied to a biometric management system. The proposed system can also be applied to some public key platforms such as the ‘electronic signature act’ and the next ‘e-Passport’, because our system has been developed on equivalent platforms.

Progressive tetrahedralization, which was proposed by Staadt et al. in 1998, visualizes a large-scale tetrahedral volume dataset efficiently with multiple levels of detail. When a visualization technique to be used is chosen and related parameter values for the visualization technique are specified, the number of tetrahedral blocks should be reduced by taking such predetermined conditions into account. In this paper, we propose a novel technique for controlling level of detail of a tetrahedral volume dataset by considering its selectively-weighted features of geometry and scalar field. We demonstrate the effects of the proposed technique with cases of cross-sectioning, isosurfacing and volume rendering of a practical multi-field tetrahedral volume dataset.

In this paper, we have proposed Gaussian Histogram Normalized Correlation (GHNC) method for lung field region segmentation of CT images with Nonspecific Interstitial Pneumonia (NSIP), and developed a prototype segmentation system to help medical doctors to estimate quantitative measurements. This method evaluates similarity between learning pattern and neighborhoods region of target pixel using a global uniformity and local noise model of chest CT images, on which the noise of CT value is spatial random and related Gaussian distribution. In our experiments, the segmentation results of the proposed method, smoothed-difference analysis and thresholding are evaluated by three radiologists. The experimental results show our method is effective: The evaluation score are much higher than that of conventional methods.
