A data hiding method for Error Diffusion images with keeping enough picture quality was proposed and studied for Jarvis weighting matrix. We presume original multi-tone images are not available when embedding and a random binary sequence is used as embedding data. To prevent the data embedding on text area, which usually causes strong damage to the image quality, simple area separation method by looking the surrounding pattern was introduced. By controlling the data embedding frequency, we succeeded to introduce the unnoticeable embedding rate for various images. The possible embedding rate being introduced was around 3-4% of whole pixels, which is almost double of the conventional methods.

This paper proposes a human detection and tracking system using an active camera, which can detect a person even when the camera is under movement. To detect a person under the camera movement, the gap width of background in each frame image is calculated by searching the corresponding points and the previous frame image is corrected by using this gap width. And the moving object is detected by calculating the difference between images of the previous frame and the current frame and is regarded as the person when the given condition is satisfied. In the human tracking processing, the movement range on the current frame is predicted from the movement value of tracking target and the person candidate region is corresponded to the person to be tracked. Finally the human detection and tracking system is constructed on the personal computer. From the tracking experiment of pedestrian, 99.5% correct tracking rate is obtained and it is clarified that the stable tracking in real time is possible for the proposed method.

A new platform for Windows/CG programming has been studied to realize a development environment of Windows programming which includes image processing and computer graphics. In a current Windows programming the Visual C++ based on MFC is abundantly used for the sake of the conveniences and wide-spread practical uses, however, MFC coding has strong difficulty. In the paper, to realize an easy operation programming especially for beginners in learning on a college and after graduation level, new MFC module techniques have been proposed by using original fundamental classes View2D/3D. Validity of the platform can be clarified with Windows programming mainly using the View2D class.

The technical core of computer visualization lies in the selection of proper mapping schemes that fully represent a given dataset in a graphical form. Software support for selecting the best mapping schemes allows the users to explore large-scale and complex datasets from the first personal point of view. This article describes how this issue is addressed by our cooperative visualization environments.
