A method for the analysis of fatigue parameters has been rarely researched in VDT operation. Up to now, fatigue was evaluated by changing of biological information. If signals regarding fatigue are detected, it can be directly evaluated the extent of the fatigue itself. Thepurpose of this study proposed experiment and analysis method to extract parameters related to fatigue from the biological information during VDT operation using the Independent Component Analysis (ICA). At first, for make out a schedule of extracting signals related to fatigue, the schedule of experiment had confirmed by subjective symptom. After them, the experiments were included heavy loaded VDT operation. An experiment had five subjects. The measurement items were subjective symptom, surface skin temperature (forehead and apex nasi), heart rate, skin blood flow of forearm and respiratory rate. After the moving averages of waveshape were calculated, it was made to extract independent components by using the ICA. The results of the ICA suggest that the independent components increase according to accumulation of fatigue. Thus, the independent components would be a possible parameter of fatigue.

We analyzed the vowel of hard of hearing child with cochlear implant by using real signal mother wavelet, to obtain the basic data that is necessary for developing the speech training software of the children with hearing loss.First, the output of FFT obtained from an original shape of waves is divided into the frequency domain of formant 1 and formant 2 respectively.Next, two real signal mother wavelet are made by processing these two frequency elements by the Hilbert conversion. The change in hard of hearing child's vowel before and after the operation on cochlear implant was examined with these wavelet.

Aging is rapidly advanced in our country. Therefore, the number of senior citizens increases, too. In the senior citizen's nursing, the movement confirmation is the most important. A lot of s movement confirmation systems for the senior citizens have been proposed so far. However, because a lot of systems are complex and expensive, the introduction was difficult in small scale facilities for senior citizens and an individual house. In this paper, we propose the movement confirmation system, which is safe, cheap, and maintenance free for senior citizens. This system combines an ultrasonic radar (USR) and a power line communication (PLC). USR is composed of the ultrasonic sensor, the ultrasonic transmitter and receiver, and the ultrasonic sensor control unit. USR detects the senior citizens entering a specific range of detection, and transmits the detection signal. PLC receives the detection signal from USR, and informs the signal to the alarm device by using the power line. The alarm device informs the care person and the family who exists in another room of the senior citizen's behavior. The effectiveness of the system is confirmed by field experiment.
