What is the condition for sustainable development projects? This study tries to answer it with the insights gained by the anthropological evaluation of a rural development project in Mexico. The women groups in four pilot community show different post-project situation; activation, status-quo, decline, and cessation. By comparing them, the study suggests that the autonomy, not independence, of women and continuing outside assistance are important factors.

The purpose of this presentation is to examine the structure of Buyi's antiphonal singing. Antiphonal singing is a kind of dialogic oral speech act. From this viewpoint, the two types of that, "Chinese songs" with short turn-taking and fixed form and "Buyi songs" with long turn-taking and unfixed form, is analyzed. Finally it is discussed what is the meaning of antiphonal singing as speech act.
