Ethnobotanical knowledge of the Eastern Penan, former hunter-gatheres, of Sarawak is reported. The knowledge is different from that of the Western Penan.
In 2001, I had conducted a research on cafes in Paris,
focusing mainly on social interaction and behavioral codes
that are implicitly understood by customers and servers.
In 2006, I witnessed a sheer success of Starbucks in
Paris, which was surprising, since fast-food-system seems
to be opposite of the traditional cafes that are
symbolized by traditional values.
