To evaluate the document retrieval orientation given to the third grade nursing department students, we gave a questionnaire indexed by outcome, and used the technique of factor analysis and heavy regression analysis to consider the effects of training. As a result, it was found that the acquisition of basic skills related to document retrieval greatly influences the effectiveness of the orientation for students, and learning the method of retrieving information from the online database, Ichushi Web, is especially important. Moreover, it was clarified that students who had participated in the orientation were able to achieve its end goal of efficienctly obtaining a document.
