A study of the frontage and depth of new houses was carried out at NAGAOKA New Town and MUIKAMACHI Town, and housing arrangement was performed regarding site planning using the basic data of each method for managing the snow on roofs, to make it possible to manage the snow for these lots, so that trouble with adjacent houses will be eliminated.
As a result of this study, data for deciding naturally for providing comfortable residences for the inhabitants the scale and shape of lots and houses could be obtained.
It is necessary for space planning of dwelling places in snowy districts that they choose lots which serve the scale and shape of which they want to make their houses, or that they build houses which serve the scale and shape of which they have had lots, for the depth of snow height of once 50 years. With this plan, inhabitants in snowy districts would be free of problems regarding snow, and would be able to enjoy their lives more comfortably in their newly constructed environment.
