In the current wind turbine generator system, the optimized system is not found for the matching of the wind turbine and the generator. This time, we propose the new wind turbine generator optimized to the wind turbine output power. This wind turbine generator is using neither the control circuit nor the PWM converter. From the experiment result and consideration it was confirmed that the matching of the wind turbine and new generator was high.

The theoretical approach by lifting line theory as to the aerodynamic characteristics of the single rotor-blade in lower tip-speed ratio condition was evaluated as substantially feasible in some specific conditions like tip-speed ratio, through a brief experimental approach of parametric research by wind-tunnel testing.

This works is intended to explore the effects of the pitching motion of blades on the performance of a vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT) with straight blades.We designed a vertical-axis wind turbine with the variable-pitch angle mechanism, which consists of a blade and a four-bar linkage.When the turbine is driven by a wind, the pitch angle of blade varies sinusoidally without actuators.We measured the performance of VAWT by using an open circuit type wind tunnel.We estimated the power loss due to pitching motion of blades is proportional to the inertia moment of blades and the cube of turbine rotational speed.The experimental values agree with the theoretical results approximately. The power of VAWT decreases with increasing of the inertia moment of blades, the turbine rotational speed and the blades pitch angle amplitude.
