We did research on measurement required for the systems development which measures personal environmental gas and body information simultaneously. This research is an example which applies wearable information machines and equipment to a user's health care. We verified the carried type constant potential electrolysis formula sensor which continuously measure formaldehyde that is one of the sources of indoor environmental pollution. And we newly made the blood-flow sensor as an experiment as a body information sensor. Based on the above, we examined the design indicator towards development of wearable sensing unit.

SPRING DRIVE is a mechanical watch, which offers the same level of accuracy as quartz watches. This special feature is realized by a system composed of both mechanical and electrical subsystems. Simulation techniques, which are effective only in one isolated subsystem, have been used to design it. Designers had a demand to take into account the interactions among subsystems to remove the limit in conventional simulations. We have applied a simulation method, based on equivalent circuit technique, to the analysis of the complete system of SPRING DRIVE. The simulation results were in good agreement with measurements. With this validation, the simulation method made a powerful tool in designing and tuning the system as a whole.

We developed the watch"earth watch" . Development of the watch includes a new idea by a movement, case and a package. We took in technique of the new social marketing which made social nature be compatible with enterprise nature in development of the product. This product has "the earth" as basic concept. We propose the new expression that is not confined to a model of an existing watch.

In this study, a method to detect wear of cutting tools of lathe for precision parts was analyzed. Theoretical analysis of cutting tool's vibration was made using dummy tools, so that it was demonstrated that stick slip vibration occurred and first resonance frequency increased when a cutting tool wore. From this result, a trial manufacture of a device to detect wear of cutting tools was made.

The automatic electric power generator which utilized mechanical vibration has been investigated in order to supply the information devices with electric power. First, the theoretical analysis was carried out in order to obtain the design parameters under constraints such as the setting space and the source of vibration. Next, the experimental model was made on the basis of the analysis result, and the generated power was measured. As a result of measurement experiments, it was validated that the practical electric power generation was obtained by the experimental model.
