Strong connection between image processing and quantum gravity is presented. I calculated the entanglement
entropy in one-dimensional quantum system living on the boundary of the image. Then I found a scaling relation
to estimate the resolution of compressed image. The relation is analogous to AdS/CFT correspondence in the
superstring theory. We discuss implications of the present results in viewpoints of high performance image
processing and efficient Quantum Monte Carlo simulation.
A corona discharging type ionizer is used generally and widely as countermeasure against ESD (Electric Static Discharge) in the semiconductor production line and so on. In this study two types of corona discharging ionizer (one is DC power supply type and the other is piezoelectric one) were tested to search better practical use condition. In the piezoelectric type ionizer, it was confirmed that there seemed to be an optimum value because it showed an excellent result according to the parameter, for example high gate frequency and etc. It is necessary to measure the ion current in each method to explain the former reason. Measuring the ion current of DC power supply type ionizer is easy, however, measuring the ion current of piezoelectric type one is difficult because it contains the capacitive current. Up to now, the bridge circuit to compensate for the capacitive current is made and has been improved. As a result, it became possible to observe the ion current on a minus side. In the future, an improved the circuit can be expected to observe the ion current on a plus side. If the observing method can be established, the mechanism of corona discharging type ionizer is figured out.
We have been researching about a control system for stabilizing liquid surface vibration by moving the liquid
(water) tank.. Until now, not so long (about 10cm) cylindrical sensor has been used to check the possibility of the effectiveness of the sensor utilizing only capacitance component change of this type sensor. However, in a practical liquid tank system longer cylindrical liquid-height sensor is needed and then it was a problem that the output voltage of the sensor was gradually saturated. The reason is considered to be caused by approximating water level change by only capacitance component change. So, the characteristic of each component of the sensor wan analyzed. As a result, the model and the equivalent circuit of the sensor were established. Then, new method circuit detecting the current of the sensor was proposed because admittance characteristic of the sensor wan linear in water level, and so the sensor measuring range was expanded. Also, it was confirmed to be able to apply the circuit to the vibration control system. In consequence, the proposed new method can be used as a large amplitude vibration sensor.
In this paper we will report the work of the international exchange committee in Sendai National College of Technology, Hirose Campus from April, 2010 to March, 2011. First, we will show preparations that we have to make for sending exchange students, a couple of methods such as email and skype in oder to see how well they are and how we help them to write their reports and give their talks in English. Second, we will describe projects done by exchange students from four partner institutes : KMITL, HMUAS, TUAS and IUT A Lille. At the same time we sent our students to those institutes for their doing projects. We asked those students to fill out a questionnaire and obtained some information from them. We will write this result concisely. Third, the South Wing dormitory has been rebuilt and all of its rooms are air-conditioned and with easy access to LAN. We will show a guideline when using the LAN.
In this report, the laboratory system for learning analog and digital circuits is described, which was introduced
at Department of Electronic Engineering of Sendai National College of Technology in 2010. This system is composed of the electric circuit simulation software (NI-Multisim 2011 for education), the NI ELVIS II prototyping board and platform, the LabVIEW graphical programming environment, PCB layout processing machine and some electronic instruments for the characteristics measurements of electric circuits. Students can design and simulate Electric circuits on a personal computer, moreover can make an electric circuit on PCB and actually estimate the characteristics of the electric circuits. Now, this system is used in the PBL program of the 4-th grade. Also, the laboratory system can be used for preparing the educational materials for the electric circuits, the electronic circuits and the measurement systems.
The e-leaning system has been used by National College Technology. The supplementary lecture material type is suitable for e-learning contents for NCT than the knowledge study type. Because the student who was not able to attend a class due to absence etc. can attend a lecture to the next class. In this paper, we report the evaluation of this system based on the results of the questionnaire survey in our students.
