The enterprise should give priority to the existing customer's maintenance in these days when a lot of markets faced the mature stage. Then, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) that is the technique for building a long-term relation to the customer based on the customer database is of growing importance importance. In this talk, we discuss CRM that uses the mathematical models and the optimization technique.

There are many problems which consider operating status (operating or waiting) and installation and un-installing of equipment in the optimization problem in energy systems. Since starting and a stop, and installation and un-installing are defined as a discrete variable, it poses a mixed integer programming problem which generally requires great time. Although there are the branch-and-bound method and the cutting plane method in order to solve such a problem, the branch-and-cut method, which includes a cutting plane procedure in the branch-and-bound method, is improved in recent years. This research shows the technique of having applied the interior point method to the branch-and-cut method, and reports the calculation result of some problems.

Electoral districts determination is fundamental but complex problem for democracy that is performed in consideration of not only vote-value disparity but also geographical and historical circumstances of municipalities. In this paper, we propose an optimization based procedure for determination of single seat election by using a genetic algorithm. The proposed approach aids determination by means of value of vote and districts cohesiveness. Numerical simulation study is carried out using demographic data of Osaka prefecture and the applicability of this approach is illustrated by districting results.

We have concerned with the strategic design for optimizing logistic networks, and formulated it as a mixed-integer programming problem. Then we have developed a practical and efficient solution method in terms of hybrid use of meta-heuristics and graph algorithm, and shown its effectiveness through various applications. To cope with large-scale problems practically, in this study, we implement its parallel algorithm via PC cluster aiming at reduction of computing time and improvement of accuracy at the same time.

In supply chain system, where the multiple companies are linked in series materially and informationally, the volatility appears not only in market demand but also in every stage of the chain. Apparently, such volatility reflects the psychological tendency of speculation by a retailer for example. This article tries to formulate the speculative ordering by Kalman Filter with multi-stage observer and proposes a concise method to reduce stock cost in the retailer.

This paper concerns with the material ordering and inventory control in supply chains that consist of one manufacturer and multiple retailers under uncertain end customer demand and delivery lead time. The problem is investigated under three controlling policies: the traditionally centralized controlling policy under the manufacturer's perspective, the entire chain's perspective, and the coordinating controlling policy with an incentive scheme. By using Genetic Algorithm (GA) to solve the problems, we show that the coordinating controlling policy with an incentive scheme can outperform the others while creating a win-win situation.

Recently, new business management schemes, like Supply Chain Management and Virtual Enterprise(VE), have been put into practice. Although, information sharing and coordination are known to be potent factors for implementing efficient management under business environment, their effectiveness is not evaluated quantitatively. Therefore, the focus is set on decision making sharing under VE environment, and analysis is made on association between coordination strategies and features of VE through Multi-Agent simulation with different information level given.
