The author employed difference-values of concentration of ore particles flowing between the measuring points within the cell as measuring unit indicating agitation effect of ore particles caused by the impeller in the flotator cell of Fahrenwald type. And by experimentally verifying the fact that the conditions of agitation (rpm of the impeller, nos, of blade, stabilizer, quantity of pulp and that of introduced air, etc.) are approximately correlative with the difference value of concentration of ore particles and that the value of concentration is easily measurable, the author adopted thisverif ied fact as the stepping-stone datum of his next intended studies on its relation with the agitation effect of the flow patterns within the cell.

The author designed the simplified drum type-vacuum filter without conventional blow-back mechanism and applied to filteration of the flotation concentrate slurries.
The details of construction are shown in Fig.1, Fig.2, and Fig.3.
It was found that this simple filter could successfully be carried out in the experimental operation. The cake can easily be stripped off by the scraping plate and is more highly dehydrated.
Because of elimination of complicated structure, this is unexpensive and can be run at low cost.
