Dispite the high technical level achieved in mineral processing practice, the methods used to determinate the grade of fluorite flotation products still require skillful analysts whose number goes reducing every year. Todays analysts are not only less experienced but have to cope with the process of optimization in vogue in the major mineral processing plants. They need lesstime consuming operations as more ability is required at any level of their practice. The suggested method is based on a thorough microscopic counting of particles coarser than 22 μm. Besides, it is assumed that -22 μm and +38-22 μm particles have the same grade. The fluorite grade estimated by this method is sensibly closed to that obtained by chemical analysis.
