Current density distribution at a Hull cell cathode is determined using a hybrid method composed of electroconductive paper method and microcomputer on-line equipments. The effect of polarization is easily evaluated with the hybrid system under the assumption of linear polarization for a cathodic reaction. Polarization parameters determined for three practical plating solutions are in the range of 0.1cm to 0.3cm. Effect of polarization is remarkable at the high-current-density edge of a Hull cell cathode.
