This research was performed for investigating the characteristic in the group of sulfurizing treatments within many surface heat-treatments that were conducted to improve wear resistance of alloy steels for machine structure use that is widelly used for machine parts. As the result of investigation, it was recognized that the sulfurized layer formed on the frictional surface revealed superior characteristic under severe wear condition.
