This paper deals with the experimental and theoretical study on the trajectory of granular particles sprayed from a nozzule by an air flow and their deposit distribution on the ground.
Four kinds of glass beads with different mean diameters have been used in the experiment.
The deposit area of particles on the ground gets wider as the spraying velocity increases and the nozzule position becomes higher and the particle diameter becomes smaller. The surface profile of deposit layer in the spraying direction shows almost symmetory in the case of large particles. The top of the deposit distribution curves shifts downword gradually in the case of smaller particles, while in the direction across the air flow the form of the profile always shows nearly a normal distribution curve.
The reason of these formations of the surface profile is given by solving the theoretical equations of motion of the particle in the spray.

Using quartz sands and glass beads as solid particles, the relation among η (collision ratio of particles against pipe wall), G (particles flow rate), and λ_s (additional pressure loss coefficient by particles) was examined.
Results obtained are as follows;
(1) With increasing G, η increased at first to maximum value, and then decreased.
