A drying-grinding syetem in an iron ore pelletizing plant, consisting of 3000KW ball mills, air separators etc, is fully automatically operated by the the computer control system including fineness control of products. An on-line fineness analyser, and remote-controlled vari-speed air separators are developed to perform the project. The paper reports about the operation results of the fineness control system of the plant in the early stage of operation.

An on-line fineness analyser is developed to compose a fully automatic dry grinding system. The analyser operates, by the principle of permeability method to indicate the specitic surface areas of the powder. The paper reports about the foundamentals of measuring system design and the accuracy of measurement.

It was tried to make a cyclone collector of which body was produced by sinking and liquid bulge forming of metalic tubular blank, and fixed inlet and outlet pipes on the body. This processing method is possible to make a cyclone collector of better working accuracy. In experiments the characteristics of the cyclone collector were compared with those of a cyclone collector by thin plate working. As a result, it was known that a cyclone collector by sinking and liquid bulge forming could have as good collection efficiency as a cyclone collector by thin plate working and have much the same pressure loss.
