In the coal fired boilers, IDFan is the one of the most important auxiliaries, and its driving power is the largest among them. Especially that for recent large size boilers reaches up to 10, 000kW. Therefore from the view points of energy and space saving, controllable pitch rotor blade axial flow fans are adopted to most of the large boiler plants. The flue gas of the coal fired boilers contains ash and one of the major problems in IDFans is the ash erosion of their rotor blades. This paper presents the theoretical and experimental results obtained from the standpoints of the flow distribution of gas and ash, andalso presents the design technics of the measures against ash erosion of the axial flaw fan rotor blades.
