Surge control for centrifugal compressor was investigated by using a bouncing ball system. The system was newly designed based on the similar one with the larger size. The size decreased about one forth to the original one. Four types of the combinations for the plenum volume, the mass of ball, and the hole diameter of the ball valve were used. The valve opening at the top of the plenum was also varied in order to investigate the spring effects of the plenum. The present system was proved to be quite effective and the further decreaes of the size would be possible. Then, the more precise control for the valve opening was considered to be necessary.
