The lube oil supply flow is very important for the bearing performance. Since the directed lubrication system has been recently utilized in the industrial turbomachinery with fluid film bearings, the correct evaluation of supply oil flow increases importance. In this paper the recirculation oil flow between the pads of bearing is focused and the effects of oil flow on the bearing performance is investigated. The analyzed results show that the bearing performance is not affected so much by the bearing supply oil flow rate but for avoiding the starvation in the oil film the correct evaluation will be indispensable.
