Luehdorfia puziloi inexpecta was recorded from 1956 to 1969 at Hirayu, Takayama city, Gifu Prefecture. Here was the only habitat in Gifu Prefecture and the western limit of the distribution of Japan. However, the period without the record at all continued for about ten years from 1970 to 1979. Afterwards, Luehdorfia puziloi inexpecta came to be collected again on 1980. However, these individuals were the one that was possibly carried from other regions, bred, and released. The wing pattern of these individuals was different from one to have lived formerly. The population that had distributed in Hyrayu might be survived, but We suspect the disturbance of gene was not avoided. We conclude that Hirayu population alive before in the only habitat had been lost. The records of this butterfly collected at Hirayu and the now keeping specimen were showed here.
