Previous studies of environmental support resources for school-aged children have mainly focused on individuals giving social support. This study reports the findings of support resources via the Photo Projective Method (PPM), which is an approach to understand children’s perspective on them and psychological environments through photographs focusing on friendship. Data were collected from two public elementary schools in Japan, and 63 children (aged 11-12) participated in our research in 2008 and 2009. After the PPM, semi-structured interviews were conducted where the participants were asked to choose their favorite photos and talked about the subjects photographed. The photographs were classified into “persons”, “places”, “animals”, and “objects”. Persons were the most photographed, particularly 69% of the participants photographed their friends. As for the relationship between the children and their resources, 11 categories appeared by KJ method: companionship, commitment, intimacy, perceived-being-accepted, personal reminiscence, feeling of relaxation, having positive emotions, being together, mood enhancement, affection, and indirectly relationship. Finding suggested the significance of using ecological models to comprehend support resources for the children. Discussion centers around psychological education and assessment tool to support children at school.

  This research aims to study an alternative approach to practical family study using the theoretical framework of the “constructionist approach to family study.” I first conceptualized ways to overcome the practical barriers of family study in home economics. I found that teaching using knowledge that one has about the family is difficult. To deal with this issue, I explored the theoretical framework of the constructionist approach to family study. I then examined a case where I attempted to incorporate a family study in a home economics class in elementary school by focusing on the family discourse of children as an interpretive practice. To conclude, in my opinion, the theoretical framework of the constructionist approach to family study is an effective way of incorporating family study in home economics in elementary school.

本研究の目的は、小児看護学実習に協力した子どもの思いを依頼されたときからの時間経過に沿って明らかにし、学生のあり方について検討することである。子ども9名に半構成化面接を行い、質的帰納的に分析した。その結果、子どもは学生の受け持ち患者を依頼され、【同意するときの曖昧な納得と学生への要望】をもっていた。そして、期間中は【学生から受けた期待外れな言動・看護】を感じつつ、【受け持ち患者になって得られたよい結果】も実感でき、【学生に対する好評価】をしていた。そのため、実習を【終了して思う次回への期待と同意】する意向を示していた。以上の結果から、子どもは実習についてよく〔分からない〕まま同意することもあるため、視覚教材などを用いた分かりやすい説明が必要となる。そして、治療・検査中は励ましたり、遊びや教育の場を支援したりして、子どもにとって有意義な体験にすることが学生の役割と考えられた。

In order to determine the carrier rate of herpes simplex virus type 1 among students, neutralizing antibody to herpes simplex virus in serum was assayed for 47 3rd -year male dental college students, 56 1st-year in the dental hygienist school, and 54 1st-year in the nursing school.Seventy one male students of a technical professional school and fifty seven females in the women's junior college were subjected in the study as controls.
1) The positive rate of neutralizing antibody among male students was 27.6 % in the dental students and 21.1% in the technical students.
2) Among female students the positive rate was 32.1% of 56 dental hygienist students, 40.7% of 54 nurse students and 49.1% of 57 junior college students.
3) The carrier rate of herpes simplex virus was 23.7% of total male students and 40.7% of female students. Significant sex difference was found.
4) Through the observation of the distribution of antibody titers, both dental students and junior female college students were found to show a higher titer than another students.
